when did steroids become popular

Has anyone asked when and how steroids got into the world of sports? Interestingly, steroids were first discovered to have a profound improvement in weight lifters in 1950. From none other than the Soviets.

Could it be by accident?

The Championship 1954 World Weightlifting in Vienna revealed some ideas about why the Soviet weightlifters completely overcome the competition, breaking several records global sport and as expected, winning gold medals in all weight classes. There was an anecdotal account of a certain Dr. John Ziegler, the U.S. weightlifting team href = "http://www.supplementcentre.com/ShopList.asp?cat=511&MainCat=1550"> doctor, had his Soviet counterpart drunk in a bar after the competition and put him to confess the secret of Soviet domination in the sport. The good doctor revealed that he injected his weightlifters to testosterone during training and before competition.

That story created the spark that ignites the Western world in his quest to defeat Soviet domination in almost all major sporting events. The U.S. contingent returned home and the Western world of sport was never the same. Here are some highlights Chronological about steroid use since then:

• In 1956, the giant pharmaceutical company CIBA created a synthesis of testosterone, said power quality improvement than methandrostenolone testosterone or more popularly called, Dianabol. The following year, the tablets of Dianabol on the team finished Ziegler weight lifting that catapulted all major U.S. events.

• The years after that saw a number of tests to confirm that steroids have an effect on improving the athletes. They were inconclusive. But this did not prevent Internal to the Olympic Council (IOC) to ban anabolic steroids. In 1975, almost all sports organizations worldwide have banned the substance.

• In 1972, the IOC launched its drug-testing regime for Olympic athletes. In 1982, the IOC had perfected controls known steroids such as testosterone "Epitestosterone test. We compared the testosterone levels of epitestosterone level six times more epitestosterone, and if testosterone levels are it can be concluded that testosterone was administered to athletes. This is because testosterone is never more than six times that of natural epitestosterone found in the body.

• During this period, the quotas of forming the German Democratic Republic (GDR) has been punched and the U.S. The Soviet athletes, and I knew how to move by the evidence. The IOC seemed always a step behind them.

• Until 1989, when news of the government-sponsored GDR anabolic training regimen of steroids and concealment was leaked to the Western media. In subsequent years, athletes from the GDR were finally caught by one scandal after another that finally gave her notoriety anabolic steroids.

The rest is history as they say. Entering the 21st century Anabolic steroid use is far from over it. A recent clinical study published in the Internet found that the substance is very much alive among lifters weightlifters and bodybuilders, with many signs of decay. It is ironic that steroids have profound medical benefit for cancer and AIDS patients. But it remains a controlled and banned substances for all sporting events of note.
