side effects steroids cats
Are steroid injections for cats have side effects?

I have 2 indoor cats, in 3 1 / 2 weeks somehow got fleas. We frontline-flead them and the house. One of my cats overgroom began last week, so I took him to the vet on Thursday-no sign of fleas so who gave a long duration of steroid injection to reduce any irritation. We frontline cats again last night. Today (Tue), my cat has had a small amount of diarrhea, it seems very lethargic and is eating less than usual. I called the vet who said to take him off food for 24 hours and see what happened. I did but I remain concerned. Could be a reaction to the injection of steroids or should be more concerned?

I doubt that steroids what than him. Steroids usually cats tend to increase appetite. Freedom 24 hours of food is to see if he is really sick or just not having like eating because of flea infestation. These fleas can cause loss of appetite as well. They are constantly biting your cat and thus exhaust their supply blood that causes lethargy. If really so, then the rest will only increase hunger and you eat well in 24 hours.
