prescribed steroids side effects

Anabolic steroid use has been in the news recently with the testimony of baseball player Roger Clemens before Congress regarding his alleged use.

Except for some prescribed and specific medical conditions, anabolic steroids are illegal Clemen allegedly used. They should also be used under strict supervision of a physician. They can have dangerous and even deadly side effects when taken without medical supervision, even once the drugs, the effects side may be permanent.

For example, in 1992, football player Lyle Alzado died of a cancerous brain tumor, some of which have been caused by prolonged use of anabolic steroids. There are certain steroid medicines such as cortisone or otherwise, which are also carefully prescribed under the supervision of a physician. Athletes use anabolic steroids are different from those that function as anti-inflammatory.

In sports, anabolic steroids are illegal, partly because they artificially enhance performance instead of relying on the innate ability of the athlete's own physical condition and to enhance performance. This, of course, is unethical. The only way to win fairly and without cheating is to trust their own abilities. You have to work hard to maintain physical fitness and performance maximum, but is the only right way to win.

Often, athletes, especially young athletes, they overlook the dangers of taking steroids benefits for short-term performance that steroids can give them. However, this practice is dangerous and even fatal health consequences for long term.

This is what can happen when athletes or anyone else taking anabolic steroids:

* High blood pressure (which in turn can cause a stroke or heart attack)
* A reduction of "good" cholesterol
* Cancer
* Liver damage
* The aggressive behavior, even leading to violence
* Depression
* Acne
* Stunted growth in young
* Loss Hair
* "Reverse" gender characteristics "appearances, such as breast growth in men and facial / hair growth body and breast reduction in women

Despite improving its performance through natural methods, it is fast and easy as honest as the use of steroids, in the long run, is much more healthy and ethical to do so.

First, there is no substitute for regular exercise. The exercise produces a natural "high" of itself, because it releases "feel good" hormones called endorphins. However, endorphins are healthy high and only benefits you.

Secondly, a good diet is also important. Without adequate nutrition, your body can not function as it should. To work effectively you need to boost their "engines" correctly.

Third, if the person is still growing, have to be careful about how much they challenge themselves with weightlifting and other sports too strenuous. Of course, weight lifting is good when done in moderation so they can strengthen muscles, but especially young athletes who take care of injuries that may in fact be permanent. Only extreme types of exercise performed, as in lifting weight specific supervision of a trainer.

Finally, there are some supplements that you can take that seems to be beneficial and healthy. A multivitamin good is a good start.

Remember that you have to win with honesty and fairness, although the focus of many sports is "win." If not, simply does not count.
